Bernie Sanders to visit Sheboygan

TOWN OF SHEBOYGAN — Failed presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders is visiting Sheboygan this week.
Sanders, a socialist who aligns himself with the Democratic Party, will host a townhall event on Thursday at UAW Local 833’s Emil Mazey Hall. According to Sanders’ website, the doors to the event will open at 11 AM.1 It is not clear why the failed presidential candidate would be holding a campaign-styled event when he is not on the ballot for any office in Wisconsin.
Emil Mazey Hall is located on Superior Avenue near County Road Y in the Town of Sheboygan. In addition to visiting the township, he will host events in Mount Pleasant, Kaukauna, Stevens Point, Eau Claire and La Crosse.2
Sanders last visited Sheboygan on April 1, 2016 when he held a campaign rally at Sheboygan South High School. Nine days later, he dropped out of the Democratic primary and finally acknowledged that he had no realistic path to becoming President of the United States of America.
